The new Porsche Cayenne GTS brings back the V8 engine to roar under its bonnet
Porsche unveils the renewed Cayenne GTS and Cayenne GTS Coupé, which can now be ordered in our country with important new features under the bonnet

A few months ago Porsche closed 2019 by presenting the new Macan GTS, and now it is the turn of the largest member of the SUV family from the Stuttgart house, the Cayenne GTS. Moreover, it will not only bring aesthetic changes in keeping with its sportiness, but also very important mechanical updates, as you will see below.
The Porsche Cayenne GTS arrives both in the standard body version and in its Coupé variant, and in both cases it will be equipped with the Sport Design package, which ensures a sportier look. On the exterior, several elements receive black paint, such as the front air intakes, the window trims, the exhaust tailpipe finishers, both the front and rear light units, and the Porsche lettering and model name. The wheels fitted are the RS Spyder Design in 21-inch size, in a glossy satin black finish.

Inside the Porsche Cayenne GTS, too, there is a sporty atmosphere thanks to the Alcántara upholstery on the roof, the door panels, the armrest and the central part of the sports seats fitted as standard, which offer eight-way electric adjustment; meanwhile the trims come as standard in polished dark aluminium. To remind us which model we are in, the GTS designation appears on the front doors, on their sill plates, on the rev counter and on the seat headrests. As an option, this look can be reinforced with the GTS package, which adds contrasting elements such as the upholstery stitching, among others, in Carmine Red or Crayon colour.
Mechanically, as the great novelty, the new Porsche Cayenne GTS abandons the V6 engine of its predecessor and adopts the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, which raises power to 460 CV and torque to 620 Nm, meaning 20 CV and 20 Nm more than its predecessor. This allows it to accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 270 km/h with the Sport Chrono package included, which is 8 km/h faster than its predecessor.

Porsche has paid attention to ensuring that this V8 engine not only delivers greater performance, but has also focused on achieving greater efficiency. To this end, adjustments have been made to the eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission that accompanies it, to the adaptive cylinder control, the injector has been placed in a central position for direct petrol injection, and a better design has been sought for the thermal management system. In addition, all of this is rounded off with a sport exhaust system with a new configuration which, for the Cayenne GTS Coupé, will be offered exclusively with oval tailpipes and with specific settings, and which may also soon be fitted to the Cayenne Turbo Coupé.
Finally, all this power is kept fully under control thanks to a specific tuning for the Cayenne GTS chassis, as well as a new suspension that lowers its ride height by 20 mm compared with the standard version. As standard it also includes the Porsche Active Suspension Management to actively control suspension stiffness, and the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, to which must be added cast-iron brake discs of 390 mm on the front axle and 358 mm on the rear axle with red-painted brake calipers. As an option, braking can be improved with Porsche Surface Coated Brake discs, coated with tungsten carbide, or with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake ceramic discs.

The new Porsche Cayenne GTS is now available to order in Spain, including the Coupé body, with a starting price of 131,833 euros for the Cayenne GTS and 136,856 euros for the Cayenne GTS Coupé. They will reach dealerships at the beginning of next July.
