Jetta Volkswagen Sedans Salón de Detroit
The new Volkswagen Jetta is arriving, but don't get excited about your wallet: it will only be available in the United States.
Volkswagen took advantage of the Detroit Motor Show to unveil the new Jetta. For now, it will only be sold in the Americas and will feature a 1.4 TSI with 150 CV.

The saloon segment is being attacked by the rise of SUVs, whose goal is to be a versatile vehicle in every respect. However, some brands continue to bet on this type of car, as is the case with Volkswagen. The German firm has just unveiled the new generation of the Jetta at the Detroit Motor Show, revealing alongside the new saloon that it will only be available for the American market for now.
We will probably end up seeing a Jetta in Europe, but the design standards followed by Volkswagen’s engineers are clearly aimed at the American market. Regardless of the marketing of the new Jetta, we are faced with a vehicle renewed in several respects, one that has a fresh and modern feel, something that suits it very well. These changes can be seen reflected in technical and technological terms.
Aesthetically, we are faced with a completely redesigned Jetta, which takes on features from its bigger siblings, who have already received their own updates. A month ago, Volkswagen revealed the look of the Jetta through a sketch, and now we can confirm that those lines corresponded to the production model. The first thing that catches the eye is a sober and elegant front end, dominated by two LED headlights that give the new Jetta a modern touch.

At the rear we can make out several elements specific to the new Arteon, such as the taillights. Overall, the Jetta has a look that combines the aesthetics of a four-door coupé with those of a traditional saloon, achieving a sober and elegant exterior. As for the interior, the new Jetta incorporates all of the brand’s latest technology, such as the Virtual Cockpit and a new central infotainment screen.
Other notable features of this new Jetta are the Front Assist system and blind-spot sensor. This technology makes the new German saloon feel much more comfortable in today’s market, featuring all the latest innovations. It also includes a 400-watt sound system signed by Beats. But the novelties are not limited to technology; they also extend to the mechanical side.
For now, the Volkswagen Jetta will be available with a single engine. Specifically, the heart that will power the saloon will be the already familiar 1.4 TSI with 150 CV. This engine will be paired with an eight-speed DSG automatic gearbox or a six-speed manual gearbox, depending on the driver’s preference.

Volkswagen has confirmed that during the first quarter of 2018, the Jetta will go on sale in Mexico, and its sales in the United States will begin in the second quarter. At the same time, sooner or later we will see the definitive version for Europe.
