The Peugeot 908 HDi FAP from Le Mans 2007 for sale
Peugeot has put up for sale one of its first 908 HDi FAPs, the car it raced at Le Mans against the Audi R10 TDIs.

After Audi had set the precedent that diesel cars could not only compete in the World Endurance Championship but win it, as in the 2006 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, for 2007 the French team at Peugeot set about having its own competitive prototype to take on German might.
At the end of 2006 the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP was presented, which would try to make a successful foray into Le Mans. That year’s race did not go their way, since the Audi R10 TDI was a formidable machine, a showcase of the finest German engineering. In fact, the French could not win until the 2009 edition.
But we have not come to give you a historical account of Le Mans; we have come to tell you that Peugeot has put up for sale one of the 908 HDi FAPs, in this case one from the first edition. With its 5.5-litre twin-turbo, twelve-cylinder diesel engine producing 700 CV, coupled to a six-speed sequential gearbox, this is no toy for beginners.
Its track record includes being chassis number 2, having been used by customer teams at Le Mans 2009, and having won at Monza, Silverstone and Spa, no less. The car will be auctioned by RM Auctions in Great Britain, at a price expected to range between 1.5 and 1.8 million euros, a price that includes technical support from Peugeot engineers for three years. For that price, forget the Veyron you ordered and get behind the wheel of this Peugeot.
