The Renault Scenic E-Tech electric already features a 22 kW bidirectional charger
The Renault Scenic E-Tech now offers, as an option, a 22 kW charger with V2L capability, to power external devices with the car’s battery

The Renault Scenic E-Tech electric comes with an 11 kW alternating current charger as standard. However, with the new option, the model can be equipped with a 22 kW charger that is supplied to order. This new charger doubles the battery’s charging capacity and also has a rather interesting feature that makes it a very practical tool.
The new alternating current charger for the Renault Scenic E-Tech electric offers V2L capability, that is, Vehicle-to-load. This means it has bidirectional charging. With this charger, the battery can be charged from a domestic wallbox with a slow charging time, but which helps keep the battery more efficient and prevents premature wear. These chargers are meant for use at home and are not as fast as commercial ones, which usually offer higher power.

In addition, this charger is compatible with fast charging of up to 150 kW in alternating current, so it can be used for fast charging at commercial chargers. With this charging capacity, it can recover around 80 kilometres in 30 minutes. But the advantage of this 22 kW charger is that it can also be used to power external electrical devices.

RENAULT SCENIC E-TECH BIDIRECTIONAL CHARGING
Thanks to a specific adapter, energy can be passed to external devices, so the model’s battery becomes a power source. The output power is 3.7 kW, which allows charging an electric bicycle battery, for example, but also power tools or items for enjoying outdoor leisure days.
To prevent the battery from losing all its charge, it can be configured to prevent it from discharging completely. You can set a minimum charge limit, so there is always a minimum charge in the battery to drive the car. All electric models of the Renault feature V2L capability, making them efficient allies for free time.
Other improvements for the Renault Scenic E-Tech
The Renault Scenic E-Tech electric has new features, such as One Pedal. This system offers five regenerative braking configuration modes. It also includes facial recognition of the driver, which allows personalised settings for each user to be activated. It also detects signs of fatigue, enabling more efficient routes to be managed, with scheduled stops to allow rest on each journey.
In addition, all electric models of the Renault now enjoy an additional discount of 800 euros if a car with a combustion engine, whether petrol, diesel or LPG, is handed in, so that buyers are encouraged to purchase an electric model instead.
