Renault Twingo Electric Cars ECO Urban
The Renault Twingo returns to its roots in an electric version... and it will cost less than 20,000 euros!

I admit it, I love the reinterpretations that Renault is making of old models I have known and driven, such as the Renault 5 and, now, this new Renault Twingo, although for the moment it is a prototype that we already saw at the Paris Motor Show, and whose interior is now being unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show. In fact, I think that, thanks to their design, these new models are going to win over – the R5 is already doing so – many users who don’t even know or have had a direct connection with the cars they derive from.
And I think the future Renault Twingo that will reach the market in 2026 has everything it takes to repeat the success that the Renault 5 is already showing. For now, here are new data and images of the preview in the form of a concept car which, judging by what we have seen in previous launches of Renault when they started with the prototype, anticipates almost 100% not only the exterior but also the interior design of the future production model.

They even dare to announce a price! It is said that the new electric Twingo will arrive in 2026 with a price below 20,000 euros, before any possible purchase aid for electric cars that may exist at that time. If a plan like the current MOVES were in force, we would be talking about being able to buy this charming car from 13,000 euros…
Digital, but with reminiscences of the first-generation Twingo
As I was telling you, we already saw the main lines of the prototype in Paris. The novelty now is the interior, where we can see a dashboard that recovers the cylindrical shape of the first-generation Twingo, as well as many other retro nods, but with functionality and digitalisation always in the foreground. For example, the instrumentation is handled by a 7-inch digital screen, while the multimedia system’s is 10.1 inches. And as in the first Twingo, there is no shortage of multiple storage compartments designed for easy access, including compartments under the dashboard, between the seats… Nor could the sliding rear bench with backrests that fold down in symmetrical sections be missing.

More details, some functional, others creative and others “vintage”, are the front headrests with magnetic strips that allow rear-seat passengers to place a phone, the backrest tilt adjustment wheel inspired by a skateboard’s, various messages scattered around the cabin left by the designers for future owners, or the characteristic red button behind the lights
