The SEAT Tarraco already hits the dirt: here's how the Spanish 7-seat SUV handles off-road
SEAT is about to unveil the new Tarraco, a seven-seat SUV that has chosen to take on a dirt track before being revealed to the world.

The SUV segment is gradually taking over every single brand, where we can find a vehicle in this category. SEAT, a company that already has two SUVs in its line-up, is about to welcome a new member with open arms, the Tarraco. This new model has been generating great anticipation since the Spanish firm revealed its name, but it is only now that we have been able to see it in motion and tackling a dirt track in adverse conditions.
The forthcoming Tarraco comes not only as SEAT’s largest SUV, but also as a turning point within the brand. This new model, alongside the Ibiza and the Arona, will set a new design path, one that will be followed by future generations of the vehicles that currently bring the Spanish firm to life.
However, SEAT has other plans before unveiling the new look the Tarraco has adopted, which are based on showcasing its off-road capabilities. Let’s recall that the brand created this new model to compete directly with the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace and the Skoda Kodiaq, two SUVs of considerable size that will be intimidated by the new SEAT member despite belonging to the same group.

To learn more about the capabilities of the new SUV from the Spanish brand, engineer Stefan Ilijevic sat behind the wheel of said vehicle to experience first-hand the ease of the forthcoming SEAT offspring. Stefan himself states that the spaciousness of the Tarraco’s cabin is very noticeable, allowing its occupants a high level of comfort and a great load capacity thanks to the 760 litres of boot space that the Spanish 7-seat SUV claims.
On the other hand, Ilijevic wanted to focus on the behaviour of the SEAT Tarraco off the tarmac, where it managed to overcome, without complications, pending gradients of 70%. At the same time, side inclinations of 85% also did not present an obstacle for the new SEAT SUV, which also managed to tackle various rocky terrains thanks to its all-wheel drive system.

The package is also complemented by six unfamiliar driving modes and the DCC adaptive suspension, an essential component for adapting to any kind of situation. The international presentation of the SEAT Tarraco will take place on 18 September in Tarragona, the city from which the Spanish SUV takes its name.
