The Skoda Kodiaq RS strips down from the inside and shows us its imposing, sporty interior

Skoda is about to unveil the new Kodiaq RS at the Paris Motor Show but, before pulling off this feat, the Czech brand has treated us to a look at its interior

We have already seen it hinted at on countless occasions, we have already got to know its exterior look thanks to some sketches and today we get to know its interior in detail, which is presented as a set that stays true to the sportiness offered by the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq RS. The Czech brand showed its clear intentions a few months ago of venturing into the world of sporty SUVs, something it achieved with the development of this turbocharged variant of the Kodiaq RS. The SUV from Skoda managed to set a new record at the Nürburgring and, after several months and just days before its official presentation at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, we finally get to see its cabin.

We tend to consider the most important aspect of a vehicle with clear sporting aspirations to be its engine, but in the end the overall package it is capable of offering is what truly determines its quality. Within this package there is a very important component, the interior, a place where we drivers are going to spend more time, and we want to keep enjoying an environment that breathes that same sporting spirit.

Skoda, aware of this situation, has done the same with the Kodiaq RS by providing it with a cabin that shouts sportiness at every turn. At the same time, the Czech brand has never forgotten that this is an SUV, a type of vehicle where comfort and ease are two essential characteristics. With this premise, the brand’s engineers have managed to develop an idyllic space in which to spend hours relaxing and, at the same time, feel the sportiness this model is capable of delivering.

The first thing that catches our attention are the bucket-type seats that dominate the cabin, which are an indispensable element in a vehicle of these capabilities. These are trimmed in Alcantara, a material that accentuates the sportiness of the Kodiaq RS alongside the red stitching distributed throughout the interior. At the same time, a flat-bottomed three-spoke steering wheel takes on the role of the helm, and in which one also perceives that new essence that characterises the RS models from Skoda.

The Virtual Cockpit and the multimedia system take charge of the technology side, giving the occupants of the Skoda Kodiaq RS the chance to enjoy the latest innovations. At the same time, its 2.0 TDI engine rounds off this rather radical package that the Czech SUV offers, as it provides its driver with 240 CV of power and 500 Nm of torque, figures that will move the Kodiaq RS with agility.

For now we do not know details about its price or release date, but Skoda has already almost allowed us to complete this new puzzle that is generating so much anticipation. It will be on October 4th when the Paris Motor Show opens its doors and we can see the Kodiaq RS first-hand but, in the meantime, we will have to make do with the images that have been gathered about this new version.
