The Skoda Octavia gets all-wheel drive for 2025
The Skoda Octavia has recently arrived on the market, but now it features an all-wheel-drive powertrain, available in both saloon and estate bodies, with the same engine in both

It has been some time since the Skoda Octavia went on sale in Spain, but now the Czech brand has launched a new all-wheel-drive version. This new version will be offered in both a saloon and an estate variant, so it will be available to all customers who want this type of drive.
To enjoy the 4×4 all-wheel-drive version, you need the 2.0 TSI petrol engine producing 204 CV, paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Those who choose this version will have to wait until April to have their car in the garage, but they can already reserve it at the brand’s dealerships.

The 2.0 TSI engine delivers 204 CV, which adds 14 CV to the output of the previous generation’s engine. The automatic transmission sends all the torque to the four wheels, so the 320 Nm allow the car to tackle the most demanding conditions.
To improve performance, the engine receives fuel through 350-bar direct injection, and the valves feature variable lift technology. This engine uses less fuel than its predecessor and will be very efficient in everyday driving.
The Skoda Octavia saloon accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds. The estate version does so in 6.7 seconds, so the two are practically identical. Top speed is 228 km/h in both cases.
The Skoda Octavia’s all-wheel-drive system is managed by an electro-hydraulically controlled multi-plate clutch between the axles. It is assisted by sensors that continuously monitor driving conditions. The control unit calculates and applies the optimal power distribution, redirecting up to 100% of the torque to the rear axle under ideal conditions.
When all wheels have the same grip, the clutch distributes torque up to a maximum split of 50:50 between the two axles. Torque transfer between the axles is optimised thanks to the EDS and XDS electronic systems.
The multi-link rear axle ensures the most precise wheel control, improving manoeuvrability, safety and driving comfort. The towing capacity of the Skoda Octavia is up to 1,900 kg.
This all-wheel-drive model is available in the Design Selections Essence, Selection Loft, Lodge, Lounge, Suite and Sportline trims, so every customer can find the variant that best suits their needs and tastes.
