The Volkswagen ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE pays tribute to the legendary 90s Golf
This ID.3 offers a very attractive look that pays tribute to a Golf variant sold in the 1990s, which is a cult car today.

Fans of showing off a tuned Volkswagen have, for many years, had an appointment at Worthersee, an event where they can display vehicles of the brand that they have prepared themselves. But this event has been cancelled and the brand wanted to have a substitute that could carry on this annual tradition. The brand’s headquarters in Wolfsburg has served to bring these fans together, and at the event this one-off could be seen, which pays tribute to a 90s classic.
The Volkswagen ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE is a unique model that the brand has created together with the sportswear brand BOGNER. They were inspired by a Golf variant marketed in the 90s, the Golf Fire and Ice. This was a version that became a cult trim level for fans of this popular model.

The new unique model reproduces and improves the bodywork paint scheme, with a three-layer finish. The exterior paint has a glass-pearl effect finish. The base colour is Electric Violet Pearl, created exclusively for use on this model, directly inspired by the one used on the car it is based on.

Another interesting detail is the fitting of 21-inch alloy wheels. To emphasise its original spirit, the car features the original FIRE+ICE logo on the B-pillar, clearly visible.
Inside, it also plays with the classic design, but with all the new features the ID.3 offers. However, upholstery featuring red on the driver’s side and blue on the passenger’s side has been chosen. These colours appear in the stitching and on the sides of both seats and on the rear bench.
The steel pedals have abandoned the Play/Pause style of the ID range and adopt the FIRE+ICE design. This logo is also laser-engraved on the dashboard and the floor mats.
The original Golf FIRE+ICE was created in collaboration with BOGNER, and it is with them again that this more modern model has been created. There were several versions of the model, offering power outputs of between 90 and 160 CV. 16,700 units were sold, although initially only 10,000 were due to be built, so it became a resounding success and, over time, a mythical vehicle for the brand.
