The Z10 electric saloon from Lynk & Co goes officially on sale in China

The Chinese manufacturer Lynk & Co adds to its range of electric vehicles a saloon with an attractive design, further equipped with a cutting-edge technological arsenal.

After opening its pre-sale three weeks ago, Lynk & Co has finally given the go-ahead for sales of its Z10 electric saloon in China, with prices starting at around 27,400 euros at current exchange rates for the entry-level version with 400-volt technology. For those who want it, the Z10 is also offered with an 800-volt architecture, with the advantages that entails, especially when it comes to charging.

The Z10 is the first fully electric saloon from Lynk & Co and is available in five different versions: three with a 400-volt architecture and two more at the top of the range with the most advanced 800-volt technology. The 400-volt versions offer a range of up to 766 kilometres under the Chinese CLTC homologation cycle, while the 800-volt versions can cover up to 806 kilometres on a single charge.

The entry-level model has a 200 kW motor on the rear axle and a 71 kWh LFP battery pack. The other two versions have a 95 kWh battery pack, delivering a maximum torque of 343 Nm and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.

The most advanced version, called the AWD Smart Ultra, is the only one with four-wheel drive. It has a 310 kW motor on the rear axle combined with a 270 kW one on the front, which allows it to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in just 3.5 seconds. This model starts at 288,800 yuan, which at current exchange rates is roughly 36,700 euros. The version just below it, also with an 800-volt architecture, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.

There is no news yet about a possible launch in Europe

The Z10 was officially presented last June and, as we already mentioned at the beginning of this article, Lynk & Co started its pre-sale in the Chinese market in mid-August. The first deliveries are expected to take place at the end of this same month of September. The Chinese manufacturer is also offering a launch promotion: all customers who buy a Z10 before 31 October will receive an additional discount of 6,000 yuan -around 762 euros-.

In terms of design, the Z10 features a sporty look with split headlights, a coupé-style sloping roofline, 21-inch wheels, full-width rear lighting and a retractable spoiler. A standout element is the inclusion of an RGB lighting panel at the front and rear, designed to appeal to young people and video game enthusiasts.

With dimensions of 5.3 metres long, 1.97 metres wide and 1.47 metres high, and a wheelbase of three metres, the Z10 is not just another electric saloon. It stands out for its advanced technology and exceptional computing capacity. It comes with a 15.4-inch floating multimedia screen and the “Co Pad” feature, which allows rear passengers to control vehicle functions from a tablet and access entertainment apps.

The vehicle is also equipped with 30 high-performance sensors, which enable driving assistance capabilities beyond those of most of its rivals. The NOA navigate-on-autopilot function for motorways is available from the very day of launch, while the same function for urban environments will be added via an OTA update in the near future.
