This is how the Aston Martin Valkyrie, one of the brand's most exclusive products, is designed

Today we are joined by Antonino Lo Re, creator of the Aston Martin Valkyrie, to explain how the design process for this impressive supercar unfolded.

Aston Martin has always been a benchmark in the motoring world thanks to its elegant, sporty and passionate creations, traits that have made them the object of desire for many. However, the English house understands not only beauty but also competition, knowledge that led it to develop one of the most exclusive and groundbreaking products of all time: the Valkyrie. Now, Antonino Lo Re, its creator, has let us take part in the design process involved in a vehicle of this calibre, where lines, aerodynamics and design must become one.

In general, conceiving a new car is not simple but, without a doubt, the task becomes even harder when we talk about a vehicle designed to run on a circuit, as is the case with the Valkyrie. As Lo Re explains, one of the essential factors in developing this new offspring was aerodynamics, a fundamental and decisive aspect for a car’s proper functioning.

Furthermore, that aerodynamics must also be connected at all times with the brand’s design language, with the aim of making it its own and representative of those canons. Once the designer is aware of these parameters, all that remains is to give them form on paper until the desired result is obtained, a task that Antonino Lo Re manages to make look like child’s play.

Starting from three “simple” lines in the eyes of a crude car lover like yours truly, Lo Re ends up conceiving what is considered one of the most impressive cars of this century. Aerodynamics, muscle and design work in harmony to shape the Valkyrie and ensure that its aesthetics match its mechanical layout.

And we must not forget that this offspring of Aston Martin is not only design but also efficiency, and to achieve that a motor up to the task is needed. For this reason, the English engineers opted for a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 capable of producing a staggering 1,000 CV and 730 Nm of torque, figures that set a little over 1,000 kilos in motion.

This is how Aston Martin once again set out to revolutionise the automotive sector with one of the most radical, eccentric and politically incorrect cars that we motoring enthusiasts love so much. On top of this, add a design that Lo Re manages to create as if Michelangelo were creating David.
