This is how the new solar service stations proposed by Gridserve will look
A UK company has launched a plan to install several solar service stations for electric vehicles, which will be spread across the country

One of the biggest problems that potential users and buyers of electric cars see is the process of charging the batteries. There is little infrastructure dedicated to this and without charging points, an electric car becomes something impractical. Fortunately, there is a commitment to building this type of infrastructure that can help alleviate this problem.
One of the companies working on this is Gridserve, a British company that will install at least 100 solar stations to charge electric car batteries. In principle, the first of these solar service stations will be installed and, after a trial period, the expansion of this type of infrastructure will begin throughout the country.

This first solar installation will be located in Braintree, in the county of Essex. It will have capacity to charge 24 cars simultaneously, and the electricity will be obtained through the solar panels installed on the top of the charging station. The charging power will reach up to 350 kW, enough to quickly recharge the batteries of the cars that pull in there.
In fact, there is only one car that can receive a charge at this power, the Porsche Taycan. The Tesla Model 3 can be charged at 250 kW, while the rest of the vehicles use a lower charging system. This means that charging times will depend on each vehicle and its characteristics.
The solar panels built into the charging points are complemented by other solar panels placed in other areas of the service station and battery systems to store energy and use it when necessary. This first installation will cover 101,171 square metres, next to the A131 motorway, and will offer various services to attend to car owners while their vehicles charge.
Thus, visitors will be able to enjoy a rest lounge with Wifi, a small supermarket, a café and various meeting rooms to keep working if necessary during charging. There will also be a study, testing and awareness centre on electric cars to reinforce the presence of this type of vehicle in cities and on roads.
All the facilities will be located in high-traffic places and will allow electric cars to have enough charging points for long journeys, in a clean way and avoiding polluting emissions, including in the production of the electricity used.
