This is the Opel Rocks e-Xtreme, the most radical version of the quadricycle with a single unit

This radical version of the Opel Rocks-e was designed as a virtual vehicle, but it has now reached the real world in the form of a unique vehicle that surprises.

Opel Rocks E Xtreme.

The Opel Rocks-e was born as a companion to the Citroën AMI, as it was the version of that car under the Opel badge. This model has several aesthetic differences, although it is essentially the same vehicle, an electric quadricycle with seating for two people and the ability to get around the city without too many problems. But at Opel they wanted to add an extra touch and launched a competition in which they wanted to offer a different vision of the Rocks-e.

The winner of this competition was Lukas Wenzhöfer, who designed a rather daring version of the small electric car. It is a model intended for off-road terrain, with small changes that give it more functionality off the asphalt. He called it the Opel Rocks e-Xtreme and although it was designed as a virtual vehicle, it has now taken physical form as a unique model.

From the screen to the real world

This model has been built with all the changes made by the young designer. He wanted to offer “a fun off-road vehicle with a surprise factor“, so he thought about how to improve the design to make it bolder. The wheel arches are larger in this version, a yellow roll bar has been added, and it is fitted with all-terrain tyres.

To accommodate these all-terrain tyres, which are considerably larger, the suspension has been adjusted, so it now sits higher off the ground. The most visible of all the additions is the large rear spoiler, which comes from an Opel Vectra GTS V8, a racing car for the DTM, which uses a 4.0-litre V8 engine. A car that sits at the opposite end of the performance scale from this electric model.

Other modifications include LED lights and a Opel logo accented in turquoise. The mudguards and the external mirrors have been manufactured using 3D printing, so that the vehicle’s total weight remains under control.

As for the engine, no specifications have been given, so we assume it keeps the 6 kW electric motor, which is equivalent to 8 CV. The battery pack has a capacity of 5.5 kWh. With this, a range of 75 kilometres under the WLTP cycle is achieved. Of this special model, only one unit has been built, and it has not been said whether it will go on sale, so it will remain a display vehicle, to showcase the customisation possibilities of the model.
