Three decades of Honda Acura NSX
Honda Acura NSX turns 30 years old since its debut at the Chicago Auto Show, where its new version was also unveiled. NSX romantics, this is your moment.
Its exotic red color captivated the world of supercars and other car manufacturers. A game in which everyone wanted to reach the greatest goals. The Honda NSX raised the bar for other manufacturers, with effects that are still felt today.
A worldwide reputation that was highlighted by a Formula 1 legend, Ayrton Senna. He made a comment about the “fragility” of the vehicle, which led to an improvement in the chassis rigidity. Without a doubt, Senna’s involvement positioned the NSX as an automotive icon.

Honda Acura NSX: A 30-year history
Honda began in 1984 with research into a mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive powertrain. However, it would become a mid-engine model placed in an affordable first-generation vehicle.
In this way, its development was set in motion. A vehicle with major differences from the concept and the production model:
- NSX (Concept): Overhead-cam V6 engine with transverse mounting
- NSX (Production): 3.0-liter V6 engine, 8,000 rpm redline, dual-chamber VTEC and five-speed manual gearbox
However, throughout the 1990s, major changes were made to the model. Until 2016, when the latest generation to date arrived.

Acura NSX 2019: Features
The Acura 2019 is very innovative compared to its predecessor. Its 3.5-liter V6 engine mounted longitudinally and augmented by three electric motors and two turbos delivers 581 CV of power.
Likewise, that power is managed by a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission. As a result, it reaches 100 km/h in 3 seconds, a top speed of 307 km/h with a consumption of 13.5 l/100 km.
Regarding connectivity, it features the most technologically advanced NSX. A 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio and a nine-speaker premium audio system.
Finally, although no prices have been confirmed for the European market, an average value of around 130,000 euros is expected, regardless of the equipment you choose to add, which could raise the price by between 800 and 2,000 euros.
