Toyota Avensis 2016, subtle but meaningful changes

The Japanese manufacturer is launching an update to the Toyota Avensis, its saloon model. As the title of this article indicates, the changes for the 2016 Model Year are very minor.
The current Toyota Avensis was launched in 2012, although in mid-2015 it received a significant facelift that adopted the brand’s current design language, seen on other models such as the Toyota Auris or the Toyota RAV4. Now, Toyota reports a series of improvements and greater configuration options.
The Avensis receives, in both its four-door and estate versions, an update to the Toyota Touch 2 infotainment system. The brand says it has redesigned the main menu and improved its operation. Free of charge, it includes three years of updates to the Toyota Touch 2 & GO navigation system and the various integrated applications. It can also be extended to two years.
Elsewhere, the Toyota Avensis slightly revises its body colour palette, replacing Bronze Maroc with the new Meteor Grey. Also in terms of styling, the Business trim features new alloy wheels in 15- and 16-inch sizes.

The mechanical range, with the Avensis 115D and 150D diesel engines and the Avensis 140 petrol engine, remains unchanged, as do the three trim levels: Business, Advance and Executive.
The Japanese model starts at 21,940 euros including the current promotions and the government’s PIVE 8 scrappage scheme. If you opt for the estate version (Avensis Touring Sports), you pay 1,250 euros more in the first two trims and 2,250 euros more in the Executive trim. The extra 1,000 euros for the top trim is due to the mandatory panoramic roof, called Toyota Skyview.
Thanks to the pay-per-use payment method (Pay per Drive), you can have an Toyota Avensis for 250 euros a month, and 15 euros more if you choose the Toyota Avensis Touring Sports.
