Aygo Toyota Convertibles Urban
Toyota Aygo x-style, the special descapotable edition receives a design update
Toyota updates the special edition of the Aygo, which is now called “x-style”, featuring unique design elements and more standard equipment

Toyota is faced with the task of turning its small city car, the Aygo, into a battery electric vehicle, something that, if we follow the trend in urban mobility, would undoubtedly be a success for Toyota and, indeed, also for the brands that have a city car in their range. But while this is happening, the Aygo’s life goes on and the brand is adding a new special edition that is already available in Spain.
It is common for Toyota to periodically delight us with new versions of the Aygo, taking advantage of its great capacity for customisation, one of its major strengths when it comes to attracting new owners of this small city car, the latest version to arrive being the “x-cite”, which added a splash of colour last summer. The Aygo’s top-of-the-range model was the “x-wave” special edition, which is now being updated to make way for the current “x-style” special edition.

As the top-of-the-range special edition, the Toyota Aygo x-style will stand out not only for its distinctive design, but also for its very comprehensive standard equipment. Externally it will be easily recognisable thanks to its dark grey x-grey paint, which will feature magenta contrast elements such as the door mirror casings, the central ring of the 15-inch two-tone alloy wheels, the vinyl trim on the lower part of the front bumper and the fabric roof of its retractable roof, the latter being a unique feature of this model.
Inside the Toyota Aygo x-style, black will be the main colour. In fact, the centre console, the dashboard inserts and the instrument panel surround will stand out from the rest, as they are finished in piano black. Continuing the contrast applied on the exterior, magenta is also present on the air vent surrounds, the gear lever knob and the stitching on the fabric upholstery of the seats.

To coincide with the introduction of the Aygo x-style, Toyota has reduced the range of the three-door variant to the x-play trim alone, but has also introduced the Toyota Safety Sense as standard across all versions, which for the Aygo includes the Pre-collision Safety System and Lane Change Warning. In addition, the Aygo x-style will also stand out for its standard equipment, including:
- 7-inch multifunction touchscreen.
- CD/MP3/WMA radio with four speakers.
- AUX-in and USB connections compatible with iPod, and Bluetooth with audio streaming function.
- Multifunction steering wheel trimmed in nappa leather.
- Automatic air conditioning.
- Keyless start.
- Rear seats with 50:50 split-folding backrest.
- Front electric windows.
- Six airbags and two ISOFIX anchor points.
Mechanically, the Toyota Aygo x-style will use the 1,000 cc petrol engine, which produces 72 CV together with a maximum torque of 93 Nm, which can also be combined with an automatic gearbox or a five-speed manual. Combined consumption is set at 4.8 l/100 km and CO2 emissions at 109 g/km, all calculated according to the WLTP test cycle.
The Toyota Aygo x-style is now available at the brand’s Spanish dealerships, with a starting price set at 12,950 euros.
