Toyota Corolla Touring Sports GR Sport, the estate version also gets a sporty side

The Toyota Corolla Electric Hybrid ended last year with several updates that brought a series of equipment improvements and the introduction of the Style trim, which was preceded by the GR Sport trim for the “sedan” body, a formula we have already seen on other Toyota models such as the Yaris and on the C-HR. Toyota continues to add that extra touch of sportiness, once again on the Corolla, but now it is the turn of the Touring estate body.

Now the Corolla saloon is not the only one getting an extra dose of sportiness, as the Corolla Touring Sports, an estate version that for the first time will receive the styling details and adjustments of the Toyota Gazoo Racing versions, the tuner responsible for the brand’s most radical, competition-oriented models, will also be available to those who choose it.

The Toyota Corolla Touring Sports GR Sport will follow the same design line as this trim on the sedan version, so its exterior can be chosen in Manhattan Grey, Ascari Grey, Orion Blue, Pearl White or Emotion Red, all combined always with a black roof. This colour also features, for example, on the exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels, the door frames, the mirror housings, the honeycomb-pattern grille, the exterior inserts or the rear diffuser.

Inside the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports GR Sport the atmosphere is also sporty, especially at the front, where occupants sit in sport-cut, heated seats with mixed upholstery and contrasting stitching, a treatment also carried over to the steering wheel, which is trimmed in perforated leather. Nor can we forget the exclusive floor mats of this trim and the door sill inserts with GR Sport logos.

Mechanically, the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports GR Sport is worth noting for being available only in its most powerful configuration, the 180 H, a hybrid system delivering 184 CV of power together with 202 Nm of torque, working alongside the e-CVT automatic gearbox. With this configuration it records a combined fuel consumption of 5.3 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 119 g/km, which, like the rest of the Corolla family regardless of trim, exempts it from paying the Registration Tax.

The new Toyota Corolla Touring Sports GR Sport is now available on the Spanish market, with a starting price of 27,950 euros including the dealer discount.
