Toyota Yaris GR Sport GT7 Edition: a Yaris with PlayStation 5 as standard

Recently, Toyota unveiled the GR Sport trim for the Toyota Yaris Hybrid 1.5 with 116 CV, featuring specific equipment and design details that give the small, efficient hybrid city car a truly sporty image. This version joins the brand’s “GR Sport” family, alongside the Corolla GR Sport in 5-door and Touring versions and the C-HR GR Sport, and will soon be joined by the Hilux GR Sport.

Now, the Japanese brand is launching in Spain a limited edition of 100 units of the Yaris GR Sport called the GT7 Edition, developed in collaboration with Sony. The launch of this new limited edition coincides with that of Sony’s new video game for PlayStation, Gran Turismo 7, which will be released on March 4; hence the name of this special series.

The starting price of the Yaris GR Sport on which this special edition is based is 19,950 euros. The price of the GT7 Edition will be revealed on the day the video game is released.

A Toyota Yaris GR Sport with a PlayStation 5 as standard

Among the specific details of the Toyota Yaris GR Sport GT7 Edition are the exterior GT badges, a corresponding identification plate inside indicating the limited series number, and a custom keyring for the smart key. In addition, this special series includes a PlayStation 5 console with an additional DualSense wireless controller, a copy of the Gran Turismo 7 video game, and a 3-month subscription to PlayStation Plus.

Recall that the Yaris GR Sport trim is already distinguished by its specific 18-inch alloy wheels with red contrast details, a corduroy-design grille, a rear diffuser, GR Sport sports seats, and a sports steering wheel. It also includes chassis adjustments for more agile and precise handling, with new dampers, reinforced underbody and recalibrated steering.

This new special edition is part of an agreement that also makes PlayStation one of the main partners of the new one-make TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Iberian Cup. Toyota, for its part, will play a leading role in the new edition of the Gran Turismo Spanish Championship, which will debut with the new Gran Turismo 7, whose winner will receive one of the units of this limited series of the Yaris GR Sport GT7 Edition as a prize.
