Volkswagen expands the Volkswagen ID.3 range with two new versions

The Volkswagen ID.3 has marked an important and far-reaching turning point for the German brand, since it is the first member of the ID. family. With this premise, the ID.3 has paved the way for other illustrious models such as the ID.4 or the ID.6, which follow the path set by the electric compact. In this way, it was to be expected that the Wolfsburg company would bet harder on the ID.3 from the start, and a clear example of this is the expansion of variants of the Volkswagen electric model.

That’s right, the German firm has just announced the arrival of two new variants for the Volkswagen ID.3. In this way, Volkswagen aims to broaden the reach of the first ID. with a more generous range of options, which translates into a greater possibility of attracting other customer profiles.

And now the Volkswagen ID.3 receives two new versions with the 45 kWh battery, named Pure Performance and City. This battery is paired with an electric motor of 150 CV and guarantees a range of 348 kilometres under the WLTP homologation cycle. But there’s more, since the 58 kWh battery can now also be paired with a new motorisation.

The Pro, Life and Business versions of the electric compact can adopt this battery with a motor that delivers 145 CV and achieves 0 to 100 in 9.5 seconds -9 seconds if opting for the 150 CV powertrain-. With this configuration, Volkswagen ensures a range of 425 kilometres under the WLTP cycle.

In the case of the Pure Performance option with 150 CV and a 45 kWh battery, charging can be done at 7 kW AC or 50 kW DC. If we opt for the City variant, the charging power rises to 100 kW DC, while the Pro, Life and Business versions with the 145 CV motor and the 58 kWh battery charge at 11 kW AC and 100 kW DC.

The Volkswagen ID.3 Pure Performance arrives in Spain with a starting price of 32,245 euros, a figure that rises to 34,785 euros if the City trim is chosen. The ID.3 Pro, Life and Business are priced at 34,985 euros, 36,895 euros and 40,475 euros respectively. Bear in mind that these prices exclude brand discounts and state aid, so they could be lower.
