Golf Passat Polo Up! Volkswagen Industry
Volkswagen has been the brand that sold the most vehicles in Spain in 2012

Volkswagen closed 2012 as the best-selling brand in the private buyer market, with a market share of 8.9%, for the first time in the brand’s history. The German brand registered 62,521 vehicles in our country, placing the Golf and the Polo among the ten best-selling models.
The Golf remains the most important model for Volkswagen, given the sales volume it generates. In total, 18,310 units were registered in 2012. The Polo follows very closely, with 17,276 units. For its part, the Passat was the Volkswagen model sold most among Spanish companies during 2012.
A large part of the Golf’s registrations are due to the new Golf VII, a model that has a well-defined group of followers who do not hesitate to renew their car when a new Golf hits the market. The Golf finished in fifth place among the best sellers despite having been on sale in our country for only a few months.
But now we have the opposite example to the Golf. The fact is that other launches from Volkswagen that seemed destined to achieve good numbers within their segment have not yet achieved the necessary penetration. Although the Up! has only been in Spain for a few months, it has barely surpassed 1,100 units in the time it has been on the market.
