Zenvo's upcoming hypercar will offer 1,800 CV
Zenvo could be working on a new hypercar capable of delivering 1,800 CV of power.

The Danish carmaker promises that its new creation will be fun to drive and will not focus solely on straight-line performance. The manufacturer is working on a new model based on the TSR-S platform. It will also feature a modular carbon-fibre chassis, a V12 engine and other updated elements.
The design was shown during the recent Monterey Car Week. The company’s president and commercial director, Jens Sverdrup, has said that, alongside the new chassis, the next Zenvo hypercar will feature a new modular V12 engine with two electric turbochargers. On its own, the engine is said to be capable of producing 1,200 CV, but the target is above 1,500, and the most extreme iteration could handle 1,800 CV. This will be combined with an electric motor and a new eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Everything we know about the new Zenvo
The report explains that Zenvo is developing two versions of the new model: the first is a grand touring hybrid, possibly with an electric motor on the front axle. The second version will be focused on the track although it will be road legal. In its lightest version, the new hypercar will weigh 1,241 kilograms. This figure is well below the weight of the Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster.

It is unknown what Zenvo is planning to make its new cars stand out in the market, but it features a movable rear wing which, as they have confirmed, “is the craziest ever fitted to a car.” This wing has been criticised by engineers and drivers who have noticed that the wing’s intended effect of increasing the lateral movement of downforce actually harms driving, as the outer tyres are pressed down with less force, which in turn means they provide less grip.
There is also the problem that the front of the car receives no aerodynamic alterations, which is not good for balance and control at high speed. Finally, the wing reduces overall downforce.
