2018 Austrian motorcycle GP: poles for Márquez, Bagnaia and Bezzecchi
Marc Márquez, Pecco Bagnaia and Marco Bezzecchi are the three riders who have taken pole for the 2018 Austrian motorcycle GP races

Spanish rider Marc Márquez has taken pole position for the 2018 Austrian GP of MotoGP, so he will start from the front of the grid. Although the Red Bull Ring seems like a circuit made for Ducatis, Honda has beaten them in a thrilling qualifying session, securing his 77th pole of his successful racing career and sending them a warning ahead of Sunday’s race.
That said, he will have a tough time from the first corner and cannot afford to relax, with Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo starting alongside him on the front row. The Italian, in fact, finished only 2 thousandths behind Márquez , which shows how close things are and promises a very tight race, just as last year’s was. The other Spaniards, except Rabat who surprised everyone with seventh place, will start from much further back, as will Valentino Rossi, whom we have to go as far as the fifth row to find on the grid.

In Moto2, pole position went to Pecco Bagnaia. For the third time so far this season, the Italian rider will start from the front of the grid, this time ahead of Miguel Oliveira, the rider who took the championship lead from him days earlier in the Czech Republic. Frenchman Fabio Quartararo was third, while the two best Spaniards, Jorge Navarro and Álex Márquez, will start from the second row, fourth and fifth respectively.
Pole position in Moto3 went to the championship leader in this category, Italian Marco Bezzecchi. That said, Jorge Martín did not make things easy for the KTM rider in his bid for what was his first pole of the 2018 season, even though the Spaniard returns at this Grand Prix just one week after surgery. Another Spaniard, Albert Arenas, completes the front row, with Arón Canet in fourth place.
