Aiways' Chinese electric supercar, known as the RG Nathalie, will make a grand entrance at Geneva

Aiways, a company in which Roland Gumpert takes part, will bring one of its latest offspring to the Geneva Motor Show: the RG Nathalie, a 100% electric supercar.

Electric powertrains are gaining more and more ground in today’s market, something we see reflected in their establishment across every single segment, including supercars. Brands such as Aiways demonstrate this, a company willing to revolutionise the world with these innovative powertrains. The RG Nathalie arrives as its most radical and irreverent model, in which an electric heart brings out a character and performance on a par with supercars powered by a combustion engine.

It will be at the Geneva Motor Show that this Chinese-origin supercar makes its appearance, captivating all its spectators. This effect will be possible thanks to the combination of design and mechanics, two areas that come together to offer a package that is unlike anything seen to date and which is governed by a language dominated by aggressiveness and sportiness.

At first glance we find a supercar of restrained dimensions, but its imposing appearance quickly reveals a power range on a par with the category the RG Nathalie belongs to. The front, closed except for a series of air intakes in the front bumper, exudes cleanliness on all sides, a very characteristic feature of 100% electric vehicles.

At the same time, we must highlight an aggressive splitter which seeks to benefit the aerodynamics of Aiways’ supercar. It is at the rear where we can also see the work carried out by the design department, where an exuberant spoiler sits above the rear light unit, which is joined by a long strip. In addition, the absence of an exhaust system allows for a wider and, consequently, more functional diffuser.

However, the aesthetics of the RG Nathalie are not in vain, since its mechanical side is in keeping with what its exterior offers. This Chinese-origin supercar is powered by four electric motors, positioned at each of the wheels, capable of generating a total output of 420 CV and 1,000 Nm of torque. These figures, combined with the 1,600 kilos the RG claims on the scales, allow it to reach 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and a top speed exceeding 300 km/h.

However, the real novelty lies in the fuel cell hidden under the bonnet of this radical model, which runs on methanol rather than hydrogen. It will be at this upcoming edition of the Geneva Motor Show where we can get to know this new Aiways supercar in great detail, accompanied by its SUV sibling , the U5.
