Aston Martin and Brough Superior are doing it again, meet the new AMB 001 Pro
Aston Martin and Brough Superior bring us a new chapter in their partnership with the new AMB 001 Pro, which has been unveiled at EICMA in its prototype version

Three years ago, Aston Martin surprised us with its partnership with the English firm Brough Superior, specialising in high-performance motorcycles, the result of which was the AMB 001, a motorcycle inspired by the design of Aston Martin and built in a limited edition. That did not stop it from selling out quickly, despite a price that was not suitable for everyone.
Now, three years later, the partnership between Aston Martin and Brough Superior is still bearing fruit, and this time it comes in the form of an evolution of that first motorcycle, called the AMB 001 Pro. It will also be built in a limited edition of just 88 units, with deliveries starting in the fourth quarter of 2023, and on this occasion it takes as its reference the crown jewel of Aston Martin, the Valkyrie AMR Pro.

These days the EICMA in Milan is taking place, a very important event in the motorcycle world where most manufacturers attend to present their latest novelties. It is there that Brough Superior is showing a prototype version of the AMB 001 Pro. Although it is a prototype, its design is very close to the production model, which, by the way, does not change excessively compared with the first version, although we will find some new elements.

The main external changes we can see on the AMB 001 Pro follow the line of the solutions adopted by the major manufacturers in their new generation of hypersports cars, where aerodynamics carry great weight. At the front it keeps a naked-style design by dispensing with a conventional fairing, but here aerodynamics come into play to prevent the rider from taking the full force of the air pressure. This is achieved through front fins that add more load to the front end and serve to create an “airbox” that channels the air to a dynamic windscreen.

The aerodynamic work does not stop there: if you look a little lower, there are flatter fins at the height of the front tyre and, slightly further back, the fairing gains width thanks to the integrated fins that channel the air towards the rear of the AMB 001 Pro. Moreover, in the style seen in recent MotoGP races, it also has a fin in the pillion area, although this one has a more refined design that blends perfectly with the rest of the bodywork.

It is worth noting that the AMB 001 Pro will be offered in a single colour specification, the one shown in the photos, which combines Verdant Jade, used by Aston Martin in competition, with black Cerakote applied to the engine and suspension, as well as the carbon fibre of the aerodynamic package. The distinctive touch comes from Photon Lime applied to the front fork and the vinyls on the wheels and fairing. In addition, the “lacewing” badge of Aston Martin in aluminium has been chemically etched and is 99.4% lighter than the enamel badge normally used by the brand.

Brough Superior has not given many details about the chassis of the new AMB 001 Pro, but it has confirmed that it will carry a new engine with considerably more power than the previous version. This engine is a 997 cc twin-cylinder unit capable of producing 225 CV, which is 25% more than the AMB 001 and places it at the top of the hypersports segment, able to take on iconic models such as the Ducati Panigale V4 or the BMW S 1000 RR. Finally, its power-to-weight ratio is 1.28 CV/kg, similar to that of a Formula 1 car, promising sensations that will undoubtedly be hard to describe.
