Audi Eventos Geneva Motor Show
Audi at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show

Audi brought four novelties to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show: the Audi RS7 Sportback, the RS6 Avant, the RS Q3 and, finally, several versions of the Audi A3, among which the five-door Sportback and the A3 e-tron stand out. The latter will reach the Spanish market at the end of 2013.
We have already covered most of them at length on Highmotor over the last few months, but the main star of the four-rings brand’s stand has been the Audi A3 e-tron, a luxury compact with a 1.4-litre combustion engine capable of running on natural gas or 95-octane petrol, that is, a bi-fuel powertrain.

The original engine has been modified from the cylinder head to the turbocharger so that both fuels can coexist. On this occasion, the 1.4 TFSI delivers 110 CV to the front wheels and offers a range of 900 km on petrol and 400 km on natural gas. The natural gas is stored in two tanks.
It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 11 seconds and its top speed is 190 km/h. These figures are considerably lower than those of the standard version.

The main advantage of using natural gas in our engine is that, although it consumes more than petrol, the gas is much cheaper, sometimes costing half as much.
As for the other models Audi exhibited in Geneva, there is little more to say. The RS variants, painted in an eye-catching red with silver mirror caps, are simply spectacular, setting comfort aside in favour of sportiness and luxury in every detail.
