Audi presents the A8 L extended: 6 seats and over 6 metres of German luxury

Audi has really pulled out all the stops with a very special version of its most luxurious model, the A8.
Audi A8 L extended is a special-order edition with some distinctive features: it measures over six metres long, has 6 doors, three rows of seats and six individual seats.
At present, the A8 is available in most markets in two different versions: the “standard” or short version, measuring 5.14 metres long, and the long version, commercially known as the A8 L, which measures no less than 5.27 metres. However, it seems not everyone is satisfied with this offer.
And so the company with the four rings has developed an even longer, more luxurious and more opulent variant, aimed mainly at official bodies and high-profile personalities. In fact, it is only built to order, with a single engine and one specific body colour.
Its commercial name is A8 L extended, and according to the brand, it has taken more than a year of development. Aesthetically, this version is clearly distinguished from its siblings in the range thanks to a much greater length, specifically 6.36 metres. Even more striking is the wheelbase, which reaches 4.22 metres.

The side has been modified, now featuring a third door. In addition, as required by law, side marker lights have been fitted to warn of this model’s size. It is only available in Moonlight, a discreet dark metallic blue. The only wheels available are 19″.
Inside, a third row of seats has been integrated, so that six passengers, including the driver, can travel in absolute comfort. The interior ambience is very refined thanks to Valcona leather and beige Alcantara upholstery. Electric adjustments, glass roofs and multimedia systems, for the enjoyment of passengers, are all present.
Mechanically, the A8 L extended is powered by the 3.0 V6 TFSI engine producing 310 CV, paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the road through the quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system. Performance is more than remarkable for a vehicle of this class, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h. To stop this almost 2.5-tonne behemoth, this version comes as standard with the S8’s braking system.
