Audi presents the Audi RS3 LMS for the TCR and previews features of the road-going RS3

Audi has just announced the arrival of the new Audi RS3 LMS, a competition variant that will take part in the TCR. In this way, the four-rings brand confirms its presence in the world of racing and gives us, in a certain way, a first look at the highly anticipated new Audi RS3 road car. The truth is that this variant has been long awaited since the latest generation of the German compact made its debut, but with the LMS already in play we can expect that it won’t be long before we meet its road-going counterpart.

Of course, Audi has been cautious and hasn’t revealed much about the styling of the RS3 LMS, which is overshadowed by its imposing aerodynamics. With all this, the German brand has presented a true marvel of performance that promises to be more effective on track than its predecessor.

The truth is that we must not forget that the previous model achieved real feats in the world of racing, with 183 cars earning 760 podiums and 279 victories. But Audi has decided to outdo itself and offer an even more precise RS3 LMS to start the season on the best possible footing from the very beginning, something it intends to deliver with a new tuning setup and more refined aerodynamics.

Now we find a more streamlined and imposing front end, in line with the latest design canons of Audi, and a width of 1.95 metres. In addition, two imposing front air intakes are introduced, whose function is also carried through to the side and the rear, where a larger spoiler, two air outlets and an aggressive yet effective diffuser have now been adopted.

Inside beats a 2.0-litre engine that develops 340 CV, keeping the block, cylinder head, crankshaft, timing, intake manifolds, injection and turbo as standard. The modifications lie in the exhaust line, the air filter and the horizontally arranged radiators designed to improve cooling.

With all this, the Audi RS3 LMS is already ready to dominate the TCR once again and become one of the fastest cars. For now we don’t know its price, but it is encouraging that Audi is already launching this racing variant, a clear sign that the road version of the Audi RS3 2021 is about to arrive with important new features.
