Audi R8 V10 Plus: limited-edition, ultra-sporty and exclusive new version

Audi is preparing an edition of the R8 V10 Plus supercar that is sportier, faster, lighter and, let’s be honest, more expensive.

Audi has revealed a limited edition of its famous sports car and luxury model, the R8 V10 Plus Audi Performance Pack. It presents us with a car at a reduced price, with more downforce and a far more exclusive combination. It is a way of saying goodbye with affection to the Audi R8, which, the company has confirmed, will see no further development of this model in the future, so we may well be looking at the last version of the R8.

Only 44 units of the R8 V10 Plus Sports Performance Parts will be built for the global market, 5 of which will go to the United Kingdom. Every model will use the same features and components; among them, the focus is on an aerodynamic pack, which especially stands out with that beautiful carbon-fibre rear spoiler visible in the photos.

However, to get the most out of this new monster, you will have to go very fast. The increase of +100 kg of downforce compared with the R8 V10 is reached at 330 km/h… So if you have a long straight where you won’t get fined and can press the pedal freely, you will notice it. On the other hand, an intelligent design translates into 150 km/h, a much more accessible speed for the track which, combined with the Performance Pack this new version incorporates, generates 52 kg of downforce.
The power has not changed; it still keeps more than enough 602 CV from its V10 Plus engine.

The weight has been reduced thanks to details such as its wheels, which lower the total weight by up to 8 kg. These are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. More grams have been saved thanks to adjustable suspension. Of course, in these driving modes you will find the option of stiffening the suspension for track scenarios, or softening it for everyday use.

This edition will also include ceramic brakes, as expected, partly made with titanium and fitted with improvements to add friction and even more resistance after extreme use.

Inside the cabin we find a steering wheel covered in a well-judged matt material that improves grip and accented with a racing red colour. Of course you will find all the gadgets that are essential nowadays, including Bluetooth, cameras for driving and parking assistance, leather seats and more.

If you are interested in acquiring one of these new models from this limited edition of the Audi R8 V10 Plus Performance Pack, you will have to pay €200,000, that is, a little more expensive than the Lamborghini Huracán, a price that in our opinion does not quite do justice to the few differences it offers over its sister version. However, if you are one of those who like to be right up to date and enjoy the Racing features even more, then this is for you.
