Audi wants to say goodbye to the combustion engine and will launch electric models before 2035
Audi has announced that of the 20 models it will launch in the coming years, half will be fully electric and from 2026 onwards the ICE engines will disappear.

Audi wants to move forward with the elimination of models with combustion engines and although it will launch several models that will use this system, its end is much closer than we might think. In fact, by 2025, 20 new models will be launched, although only 10 of them will have a combustion engine. From 2026 onwards, all models will already be cars with electric motors. It is expected that from 2026 all models that arrive will already be electric.
The date set for the manufacture of the last car with a combustion engine is 2033, and from that year onwards, there will be no car manufactured by Audi that has a combustion engine. This means that before 2035, Audi will already have taken the definitive step towards electric mobility.

From the management of Audi they assure that in 2027 the brand will have an electric model for each of the main market segments. That said, it has not yet been made public which models will arrive or which of them will feature the electric traction system.
What we do know is that the Q6 e-tron SUV will arrive. Its launch date is planned for late 2023 and it will be based on the EPP platform. This is the same one the Porsche Macan will use, as it was developed to serve as a base for both brands.
And, according to the words of Audi’s CEO, Markus Duesmann, we can expect electric versions of the A4, A6 and A8, which will keep their current names but add the e-tron designation to mark their membership in the brand’s electric range. An entry-level model is also expected to be launched, positioned below the Audi Q4 e-tron.
It should be remembered that Volkswagen has just presented the VW ID.2all, an entry-level, small vehicle that aims to bring electric mobility to as many people as possible. Audi could follow the same path, as it was announced that other brands in the group could offer versions of the same model.
With these actions, Audi wants to make its commitment to electric models very clear, with set dates to forget about combustion engine models altogether.
