The new Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid radically changes its look and, at the same time, increases its power thanks to the kit Brabus has prepared for it

In saloon or estate form, if you want a high-flying sports car signed by AMG that still retains much of its luxury, refinement and attention to detail, then the AMG E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+ should be among your candidates, a model that was unveiled in March last year and arrived with the distinction of being the first plug-in hybrid to leave AMG’s performance division.

But despite being an AMG model, its styling is not as radical as we might expect. Apart from a few details that reveal its origin, it could pass for an E-Class with the AMG styling package. So, if what you want is to give your AMG E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+ a more aggressive look and, at the same time, a greater dose of power, pay attention to what Brabus has in store for your model, because it will undoubtedly turn heads wherever you go.

Too busy for some, or the perfect level of aggression for others, what is certain is that the aerodynamic and styling kit Brabus has prepared for the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+ will leave no one indifferent, with elements for both the saloon and estate bodywork made of exposed carbon fibre, although it can also be ordered in gloss or matt black. It is worth noting that the vast majority of the elements fitted to its exterior also serve to improve its aerodynamic performance.

At the front we find a new bumper fitted with a front splitter divided into three pieces, which generates more downforce at high speeds, combined with a new grille that gives it a more aggressive appearance. On the sides, the Brabus Platinum Edition wheels stand out, available in five different designs in 21 inches and fitted with Continental or Hankook tyres, not forgetting the side skirts, while at the rear there is a new, sculpted diffuser that incorporates four exhaust outlets with a diameter of 90 mm to round off both the styling and the sound.

Precisely the sound of its engine will be even more brutal, not only because of the new exhaust line but also because of the improvements it has received. Let us recall that, as standard, it features a hybrid system made up of a 3,000 cc six-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor which, together with the new Brabus PowerXtra B53 control unit, increases its power to 700 CV along with a torque of 850 Nm, enabling it to reach 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and attain a limited top speed of 280 km/h. Alongside this hybrid system, the same standard battery remains in place, with a capacity of 28.6 kWh.
