Bugatti Chiron Profilée: a one-off unit that will soon be auctioned for charity

Conceived as a special edition of which only 30 units would be produced, the Chiron Profilée ultimately became a one-off based on the Pur Sport radical

Since its debut back in 2016, the Bugatti Chiron has been the star of a large number of special and highly exclusive editions, such as the Chiron L’Ébé, the Mistral, the Centodieci and the Pur Sport radical. However, the Bugatti Chiron Profilée never saw the light of day, even though 30 units of it were originally planned.

The reason it became a one-off, even though the initial idea was that the 500 units to which production of this model was limited had been reached, was that it became a unique edition alongside the La Voiture Noire, another special edition that for a time was in fact the most expensive car in the world.

Just as fast, less radical

This special edition was born to satisfy customers’ desire for an alternative that was just as capable as the Pur Sport on track, but with a somewhat more GT focus and suitable for the streets and the “day to day” of a machine that exceeds 1,500 CV and is capable of reaching 400 km/h with complete ease.

As far as its design is concerned, the only Bugatti Chiron Profilée produced featured a new hydraulic rear wing shaped like a duck tail, which undoubtedly enhanced the visual appeal of this special edition and gave it a distinctive touch, since virtually all the other elements were identical to the version it was derived from, the Pur Sport.

The paint chosen to dress this car was a blue called Argent Atlantique, which, in contrast with the lower part of the bodywork made entirely of carbon fibre and with the wheels in the same colour as the lower part of its bodywork, completes the attractive look of this one-off.

An interior in combination

If we step inside the Chiron Profilée’s cabin, we find an interior dominated by blue leather and carbon fibre, with simply perfect finishes and a few unique details of this edition, such as the aluminium plates located on each side of the central tunnel bearing the model name.

Where we do find a large number of novelties is in the innards of this one-off, since despite fitting the same 8.0-litre W16 engine with four turbochargers, 1,500 CV and 1,600 Nm of torque, it debuted a specific chassis setup, with springs 10% firmer than those of the Pur Sport and 50% more negative camber to offer better stability through corners.

With all this, this one-off will be auctioned through the famous auction house RM Sotheby’s on 1 February 2023, and its proceeds will be donated to charity.
