Emily GT, the return of SAAB in the form of an electric saloon?
In 2013, the company SAAB ceased its activity and became part of NEVS, although it keeps some projects in progress, such as the Emily GT.

In 2013 the brand SAAB was shut down; over several years it had offered a considerable number of models which, although not excessively popular, had their moment of success. Since that year, there has been no news about the brand, although it was known that it had been acquired by a Chinese multinational. The latter did not close it completely, but left it on hold, laying off 95% of the workforce, while keeping the other 5%.
SAAB ended up becoming part of National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), so the projects arising from the brand remain active somewhere. That is why there is hope for the brand and for its latest presented project. This is the Emily GT, an electric saloon that at the time was quite advanced and was due to appear shortly. But bankruptcy came and the project was abandoned.

The return of the project
But a project of these characteristics cannot remain in limbo for long, and the company NEVS has put this proposal forward in order to attract investors who could give it the push needed to bring it back. And, surprisingly, it seems that an investor has appeared who will provide the money needed for this project to go ahead and reach a successful conclusion.
This investor, who remains anonymous, has committed to moving forward with this project and has planned a strong investment to bring back the spirit of SAAB. The details of the agreement have not been made public, but it is expected that the brand’s entire workforce will be rehired and that work on the project will continue.

The Emily GT would not be the only electric vehicle with a presence in the new brand, as work will also be carried out on other models that would arrive within a certain time. In this case, possibly, the SAAB name will not be used again; instead it will become NVES, which is the brand under which the whole legacy of the Swedish marque finally came to rest.
The Emily GT
This electric saloon model was designed to house a battery offering a considerable capacity of 175 kWh. This large battery was going to give it a range of up to 1,000 kilometres, which made it a fairly interesting electric model. It was equipped with four electric motors of 120 CV each. In total, the model offered a considerable 480 CV.
According to the latest news released by the brand, another variant was being worked on, which was going to offer a power equivalent to 640 CV. Even so, many details about this agreement remain to be known, so we will be watching for any news on the matter.
