Honda introduces new features across the entire Civic e:HEV range, including the virtual S+ Shift gear change
Honda announces a series of updates affecting the entire Civic e:HEV range, as well as others more specific to certain trim levels

A year ago, Honda launched the redesigned Civic e:HEV, an important model for the brand that was updated mainly with aesthetic changes both inside and out and which now receives a series of improvements that mainly apply to the entire range, with others for one specific trim level, always with the aim of maintaining the appeal of this model.
If we start with the updates affecting the entire Civic e:HEV range, the first thing we find is that it is the chosen model to debut a new Honda logo in black and silver finish. Speaking of colours, the Civic’s palette is updated with the arrival of the new Meteorite Grey Metallic replacing Sonic Grey Pearl, joining the existing colours Platinum White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Premium Crystal Red Metallic and Marine Blue Pearl.

We are still not done with the changes affecting the entire range. If you regularly read us, last week we told you about the news surrounding the Honda HR-V, and among them was the incorporation of a new driver monitoring camera system, which will be included in the Honda SENSING driver assistance package and which now also arrives on the Civic e:HEV, expanding its safety functions with a system that monitors the driver’s attention to the road.

Now, more specifically, Honda implements the S+ Shift technology as standard equipment for the Advance and Sport trim levels. It debuted on the new Prelude, a model whose production began last autumn. S+ Shift technology will be available on the Advance and Sport trims, simulating the behaviour of an eight-speed automatic gearbox through the paddles behind the steering wheel, which are normally used to manage regenerative braking. This technology can coordinate engine speed, throttle response and energy regeneration, which we were able to test a few months ago, leaving us with very good impressions.

Finally, the Sport trim introduces a series of improvements as standard equipment. If you choose a Civic e:HEV in the Sport trim, you will now get a red grille surround specific to this version and a shark-fin antenna on the exterior. Inside, the red decorative stitching extends to the steering wheel, door panels, centre armrest and seat upholstery, and it also features the Premium BOSE audio system with twelve speakers, a centre speaker and a subwoofer.
All these changes for the Honda Civic e:HEV are now available on the Spanish market, with prices starting from €33,400 for the Elegance trim, from €34,900 for the Sport trim, and from €37,600 for the Advance trim.
