This vehicle designed for outdoor work and in enclosed spaces is one of the proposals from Honda for the US market.

It is not a type of vehicle we can easily see in Spain, but in other countries it has become a good option for farm work or for enjoying the outdoors. UTVs (Utility Task Vehicles) are small vehicles designed precisely to offer mobility solutions on difficult terrain and for work and leisure use outdoors.

Honda has just presented the Pioneer 1000-6 Crew, a model that joins its range of this type of vehicle. Specifically, it is an extended version of the Pioneer 1000, but with a seating capacity of six people and a spacious cargo area at the rear.

Being a vehicle focused on work and leisure, and with a moderate power output, it can be driven by anyone over 16 years old, so it is a good option for getting around rural areas. That said, it is not approved for use on public roads.

It measures 3,866 millimeters in length, 1,600 mm in width and 1,933 millimeters in height, with a wheelbase of 2,926 millimeters. It has four doors and is 896 millimeters longer than the two-door model. The wheelbase is also greater, which allows passengers to travel more comfortably. The cargo area is spacious, and there is also extra storage space under the seats, making it even more useful.

To propel it, it has a 999 cc twin-cylinder Unicam engine, liquid-cooled, producing 72 CV. The dual-clutch transmission sends power to all four wheels thanks to a selectable i-4WD system with differential lock.

The UTVs from Honda are equipped with independent double-wishbone suspension at both the front and the rear. The hydraulic brakes measure 210 mm, and on this model Honda has added self-leveling rear suspension. This allows it to adapt to the weight of the rear load, along with a towing driving mode.

The US market is the main target for this range of outdoor work vehicles and is their primary market. In fact, they are manufactured at Honda’s plant in North Carolina, and there are several competing models that present a fierce rivalry with the Japanese brand.
