Jaecoo 7: this is the SHS system powering the Chinese plug-in hybrid SUV
The Jaecoo 7 Super Plug-in Hybrid is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system that optimises consumption, energy use and improves driving.

The Jaecoo 7 is a plug-in hybrid SUV that is being sold in Spain and brings quite interesting technological innovations to the drivetrain. In fact, it features a plug-in hybrid drive system of third generation, developed and designed by the Chery Group, owner of the brand.
This third generation of the Super Hybrid System (SHS) was developed after listening to users, and adapted to deliver the sensations and driving experience needed to enjoy the wheel. To this end, power, range, handling and energy efficiency have been improved.

A hybrid system with the latest technology
The SHS used in the Jaecoo 7 Super Plug-in Hybrid has as its main element a fifth-generation 1.5-litre GDI DHE combustion engine. The dedicated second-generation Super Electric Hybrid DHT transmission handles the electric part of the drive, and the high-performance batteries are designed to power the electrical system of a hybrid vehicle in an optimised way.

The combustion engine offers six technologies to optimise its operation. It uses the Deep Miller cycle and i-HEC high-efficiency intelligent combustion. Its thermal efficiency is 44.5% and it is homologated at a consumption of 6.0 litres per 100 kilometres in CS mode. This system allows the battery to keep its charge level within a stable range instead of depleting or charging it.
The DHT electric transmission incorporates two electric motors. With them, the Jaecoo 7 Super Plug-in Hybrid offers several operating modes: electric, series hybrid, parallel hybrid and energy recovery. The hybrid management system allows the ideal mode to be selected at any moment and optimises its use.
The battery pack is climate-controlled and operates normally at temperatures between -35ºC and 60ºC, so it delivers consistent performance whatever the weather conditions. It has a capacity of 18.3 kWh and allows an electric-mode range of up to 90 kilometres.
With a 40 kW charger, it can go from 20 to 80% capacity in just 20 minutes, a very short wait that makes city driving hassle-free. It also has V2L capability, so it can supply energy to external devices with a power output of 3.3 kW.
