Jaguar XF 2012, now with a 4-cylinder diesel engine

The new Jaguar XF 2012 was unveiled this week at the New York Motor Show (and also in Amsterdam). It is an update of the model that went on sale in 2007. It will be available at the end of 2011 or the beginning of 2012.
Changes to the exterior are minor. The most notable is the new shape of the front headlights, which now bear a strong resemblance to those of the CX-F concept and the XJ saloon. The design of the bumpers, the size of the front cooling intakes, the wing mirrors and the rear lights has also been changed.
Changes inside are even less noticeable. The controls on the centre console and the seats have a slightly different design. The audio system has been improved, it can deliver up to 1,200 W of power and features two USB ports.

The XF gets a new 4-cylinder diesel engine, 2.2 litres, 190 CV and 450 Nm of torque (we already previewed this in this post). It is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox developed by ZF. The official average consumption is 5.4 litres per 100 km (149 g/km of CO2), a good figure, helped in large part by a new automatic engine stop-start system, better known as Start&Stop.
The 190 CV diesel XF accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 225 km/h.
