Defender Land Rover Recreations SUV
Kahn Design turns the Land Rover Defender into a two-seat SUV: this is the Flying Huntsman 90 Spyder
Flying Huntsman presents the exclusive Flying Huntsman 90 Spyder, a reinvented Defender with style, power and an improved design

Just when we thought a Land Rover Defender couldn’t get any more incredible, Flying Huntsman has arrived. The division dedicated to design within the KAHN® empire, responsible for the Vengeance and several incredible Defender projects, has today launched its latest project, the Flying Huntsman 90 Spyder, in which it has transformed the current Land Rover Defender into a sporty, spider-style SUV with only two seats.
Each Spyder unit becomes a work of engineering thanks to the use of NS3-grade lightweight aluminium in its panels, hand-sculpted and paying homage to the golden age of British coachbuilding. The meticulous, detailed construction process takes six months, resulting in a two-seat SUV of unparalleled style. Each one is truly unique, made to measure to satisfy the most exquisite desires of its customers.

Only 8 units per year
The Flying Huntsman 90 Spyder is a rare gem. The first units will roll out in the second quarter of 2024 and will be individually numbered. Production is limited to just eight units per year, guaranteeing the brand’s exclusivity and distinction. Lucky owners will have the opportunity to further personalise their vehicle with exclusive wheel designs, produced as fully forged wheels and designed by KAHN® to their tastes and specifications.

These exceptional vehicles are built in Coventry, the epicentre of the British automotive industry, in the same factory that played a crucial role in creating the Aston Martin One77 and other renowned coachbuilding projects. This focus on British craftsmanship not only celebrates the heritage of automobile manufacturing in the United Kingdom, but also keeps the tradition of coachbuilders alive and relevant.
The same engine, improved design
The Flying Huntsman 90 Spyder features a number of notable improvements. The factory roof has been replaced by a removable and durable canvas hood that stows elegantly over the bonnet. This not only adds a distinctive touch to the design, but also offers storage capacity equivalent to that of the original Defender 90.

In terms of power, the Spyder offers an impressive range of options. Drivers can choose the efficient 3.0-litre diesel engine with mild hybridisation, delivering 250 CV. For those seeking more energetic performance, there is a 400 CV petrol engine option. And for technology lovers, a 404 CV plug-in hybrid is available. However, the crown jewel is the 5.0 V8 engine, capable of unleashing an impressive 525 CV.
The Defender 90 Spyder is a more compact and lightweight machine compared with the longer versions, such as the 110 and 130 bodies. This agility translates into exceptional performance. For example, the eight-cylinder version is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds, a remarkable feat considering its weight of 2.6 tonnes.
