Audi is celebrating this year the 25th anniversary of its TDI engines and has created a new special edition for the occasion. The chosen model is the A7 Sportback, whose update was presented in May, and the series is called “competition“. The German brand states that customers will be able to order it from early August, while deliveries will take place during the autumn.

The A7 Sportback competition comes as standard with the grille and window surrounds, mirror housings and exhaust outlets painted in glossy black, as well as the S line exterior package, which includes a twenty-millimetre reduction in suspension height. Other features include 20-inch five-spoke wheels painted in black, red brake calipers and 17-inch brake discs.

The available exterior colours will be the following: Daytona Grey, Misano Red, Nardo Grey and Sepang Blue. As with the bodywork, glossy black paint is also very present in the interior of the A7 Sportback competition. This edition comes as standard with sports seats upholstered in black or grey Valcona leather and decorated with S line logos. If the customer wishes, they can request that the stitching be in grey or red to contrast more with the upholstery.

The interior also features aluminium and black Beaufort wood inserts, which help to increase the colour contrast of the cabin. In terms of mechanics, the A7 Sportback competition will only be available with the new 3.0 TDI biturbo clean diesel, which, thanks to certain modifications introduced in this special series, produces 327 CV, seven more than the standard version.

The maximum torque of 650 Nm is reached between 1,400 and 2,800 rpm. With this engine, the A7 Sportback consumes 6.1 l/100 km on the combined cycle and emits 162 grams of CO2 per kilometre. The price for the Spanish market is still unknown, but Audi announces a reference starting price of 72,000 euros.
