New Honda Civic e:HEV: time for the hybrid engine!
Honda unveils the first images of the new generation of the Civic, which will arrive in autumn 2022 with the brand’s e:HEV hybrid propulsion system.

More than a year ahead of its market arrival, Honda unveils the first images of the successor to the current Civic 5-door. The eleventh generation of this model is scheduled to be available in Europe in autumn 2022. The reason for such early timing is simple: the new Honda Civic will be available sooner in the American and Japanese markets.
Specifically, the American-market version has revealed more images than the three simple photos of the red car you will see in the gallery, which is the European version. As you will see, the changes are minimal.
In Europe, only with e:HEV hybrid engines
As Honda already hinted when it unveiled its electrification plans, with the goal that by 2022 all models in its European range will feature electrification, it is no surprise that the future Civic confirms its move to hybrid engines. Specifically, the Civic will be the next model from the brand to use the e:HEV technology of Honda, which we have already seen in various configurations in the new Honda Jazz and Crosstar, in the CR-V and in the recently presented Honda HR-V, which will reach the market at the end of this year.

In other markets such as America, the Civic has been presented with 2.0 naturally aspirated petrol engines producing 158 CV and a 1.5 Turbo producing 180 CV, with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a new CVT automatic gearbox.
Honda will continue this success story with the Civic, whose first generation was presented in 1972, and of which more than 27 million units have been sold in 170 countries worldwide.
