Porsche 911 GT3: the new king of the track
The seventh generation has authentic racing genes. The exterior is dominated by the rear spoiler and, inside, the 6-cylinder engine delivers 510 CV

The new Porsche 911 GT3 has a successor. And the new GT3 arrives, once again, to become the true “King of the track”. The car every enthusiast of sports vehicles would love to have in their garage, and the one they would surely choose for a track day on the circuit.
In fact, Porsche Motorsport played a major role in developing the seventh generation of the 911 GT3. The brand states that this is the largest technology transfer from competition to a production model it has ever made.
A Porsche 911 GT3 with racing genes
If we place the new Porsche 911 GT3 alongside the 911 RSR, there is no doubt: the new GT3 has authentic race car genes. You only need to look at the massive manually adjustable rear spoiler and the studied aerodynamics, developed for the track car.
The engine is the four-liter flat-six, based on the one used in the 911 GT3 R and now also in the 911 GT3 R Cup. For this application it produces 510 CV (375 kW), which can be paired with a PDK dual-clutch gearbox, or with a six-speed manual. Performance improves over the previous generation, with a top speed of 320 km/h and 3.4 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h.

With the maximum-downforce aerodynamic configuration, reserved for track driving, the new Porsche 911 GT3 has already become the new benchmark at the Nürburgring, setting a fast-lap time of 6:59.927 minutes during the car’s development phase on the 20.8 km “long” layout, fitted with the optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres (production cars will come with Pilot Sport Cup 2). Combined consumption on the WLTP cycle is 13.3 l/100 km, and almost one litre less with the PDK gearbox.
From the street to the circuit
An interesting fact is that the weight of this new 911 GT3 does not change compared with its predecessor. It stays at 1,418 kg with the manual gearbox, and weighs 1,435 kg with the automatic. To keep the “diet”, the GT3’s bonnet is made of CFRP (carbon fibre reinforced plastic), the windows use a lighter special glass, and up to 10 kg are saved in the new sport exhaust system.

The nod to competition is also present inside, where the design and layout of the current Porsche 911 are retained. As new features, there is a special display mode for track driving in the instrumentation, which simplifies the cluster with readouts for tyre pressures, oil temperature and pressure or water temperature flanking the central rev counter.
Among the numerous personalisation options, there is a lightweight roof made of exposed carbon fibre, matrix LED headlights in darkened finish, wheels with rims painted in red or blue… Not to forget the exclusive Porsche Design chronograph, which only 911 GT3 customers can purchase, with a titanium case and a rotor inspired by the design of the car’s wheels.

The price of the new Porsche 911 GT3 for the Spanish market is 192,134 euros, and customers who order it now will be able to receive it from May onwards.
