Porsche Cayenne S Coupé: with 440 hp twin-turbo V6 engine

Porsche adds the S version to the Cayenne Coupé range, which, with a 440 hp twin-turbo V6 engine, sits between the entry-level 340 hp version and the 550 hp Cayenne Turbo Coupé.

Not as much as the Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupé, with its powerful 550 hp V8… nor as “basic” as the entry-level Porsche Cayenne Coupé in the range, with the 3-litre V6 and 340 hp. The new Porsche Cayenne S Coupé sits right in the middle, both in terms of power and price, although on the latter, it’s closer to the second.

Porsche Cayenne Coupe

The new Porsche Cayenne S Coupé’s 2.9-litre V6 engine with twin turbochargers produces 440 hp and a maximum torque of 550 Nm. It allows the sporty SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5 seconds, a figure that drops by a tenth when fitting any of the optional sport packages available. Top speed is 263 km/h.

The most balanced Porsche Cayenne Coupé

This makes the S version the most balanced Porsche Cayenne Coupé. At least until the future arrival of plug-in hybrid versions. It pulls far enough away from the base version in performance to overshadow the Cayenne Turbo Coupé itself, at a price well below the latter. And let’s not forget about consumption, which, with an average of 9.4 l/100 km, is practically the same figure as the base version, and 3 l/100 km below the ever “thirsty” V8.

As for price, the Cayenne S Coupé starts at 115,408 euros, which is about 18,000 euros more than the 340 hp Cayenne Coupé… and 55,000 euros less than the Turbo.

Here, in addition to the extra power over the basic V6, the Cayenne S Coupé comes standard with the Sport Chrono package, Plus steering with speed-variable assistance, 20-inch alloy wheels, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and front and rear parking assistance.
