Porsche could launch an electric SUV larger than the Cayenne in 2027
We will have to wait until 2027 to learn about Porsche’s new electric SUV.

The Stuttgart-based brand could launch an electric SUV in 2027 that will be larger than the Porsche Cayenne. This new SUV could be based on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture of the Volkswagen Group. The electric SUV already has a code name, specifically K1. In addition, Oliver Blume, the brand’s chief executive, has pointed out that the vehicle will be “a very sporty interpretation of an SUV”.
The SUV was originally going to use the Scalable Systems Platform of the German group, but delays in refining this platform have required a change. However, the new Porsche should be developed on an improved version of the PPE platform we have discussed. Among its features, its 920-volt electrical system stands out, with which the brand aims to improve charging speed.
Some sources have claimed that the German manufacturer could reach the market with a battery pack with a capacity greater than 100 kWh, which could translate into a range of 700 kilometres on a single charge.
Everything we know about Porsche’s new electric SUV
The truth is that the Stuttgart brand has been working on the so-called K1 for the past three years. In addition, some say this model could enjoy enormous success in markets such as China or the United States. As far as we know, the new electric SUV from Porsche could feature a short bonnet and a rear end with a liftback tailgate, which would make it easy to identify, as is the case with models such as the Porsche Macan or the Porsche Cayenne.

Among its details, we also know that the new electric model from the German brand could be equipped with adjustable air suspension, an electronic differential with torque vectoring technology and even four-wheel steering. This new member of Porsche’s electrified family could reach the market in 2027, just after the much-anticipated all-electric Porsche Macan.
In addition, it is not the manufacturer’s only innovation: we will also see fully electric Porsche Boxster and Cayman models, as well as the electric version of the Porsche Cayenne, a model that will be priced well above the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT. Everything suggests that Porsche will assemble its new electric SUV at the same Leipzig factory that will handle production of the electric Macan.
Either way, we will have to wait a little longer to learn all the details and secrets of the new electric SUV from the Stuttgart brand.
