Presented at the Geneva Motor Show, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster
The most extreme open-top version of the Lamborghini family is called the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster
Super Veloce, Jota, Roadster. Three concepts that, historically, at and for Lamborghini, each represent a step above the previous one. As if having a Lamborghini Aventador weren’t enough, adding the SuperVeloce designation first, then the J, and finally configuring it as a roadster makes the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster the most extreme production Lamborghini in the range.
The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ arrived in the summer of 2018 amid controversy over its lap record for a road-legal car around the Nürburgring circuit. Be that as it may, it is now, before the summer of 2019
, that owners of the new Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster have been able to see their dream come true.
An open-top Lamborghini Aventador SVJ that captures the radicalness of the SuperVeloce J version of the Aventador, with the option of driving with the roof down.
The radical character of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster
With the roof closed, this Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster uses the same 6.5-litre V12 engine. This unit produces 770 CV at 8,500 rpm, the revs at which the mechanical heart is capable of climbing, and generates 720 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. The same characteristics as the coupé version.
And it is then, as a convertible, that its figures change. With a top speed of over 350 km/h, the 0 to 100 acceleration is set at 2.9 seconds. An impressive figure for a car weighing 1,575 kg, though 50 kg heavier than its fixed-roof sibling. This makes it slightly slower than the coupé, by exactly one tenth of a second. Likewise, the 0 to 200 takes two tenths longer, clocking 8.8 seconds.
It will also be more exclusive: while 900 units of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ coupé were to be built, only 800 of this Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster will be produced. The starting price of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster will also be higher, at 387,000 euros compared with the 350,000 of the closed version.
The engineering at the service of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster
As a convertible, the aerodynamic work has continued the work begun on the Lamborghini Huracán and also featured on the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ of 2018. We are referring to an evolution of the active aerodynamics system ALA
(Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva), along with high-speed stability thanks to Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS), not forgetting the Lamborghini Magneto Rheological Suspension (LMS) system, which allows exquisite adjustment of the steering.
Depending on how the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster is used, the drive mode selector allows driving in STRADA, SPORT, CORSA or EGO modes.
This Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster gives its owners a very high level of personalisation both of its cabin and its finish. Choices that leave a fascinating vehicle entirely to your taste. Not least, you can choose between two wheel options: Pirelli P Zero Corsa as standard, or the sumptuous Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R, approved for road use off the circuit.
