Range Rover Evoque 2019: awaiting the new generation

With the second generation on the horizon, Land Rover is updating the Range Rover Evoque with new features affecting the engine range and equipment.

The 2019 range of the Range Rover Evoque remains unchanged in terms of styling. The SUV has not needed any, having been on the English market since 2012, and its enormous sales success has been precisely due to its striking design. Moreover, the last update is relatively recent, as it underwent a thorough refresh in 2015. That said, the opportunity has been taken to “refresh” the colour range, which now offers eleven options, as well as adding new-design alloy wheels on some versions.

The three-door bodystyle version of the Range Rover Evoque has been dropped from the range, while the exclusive Evoque Convertible remains

Inside, new ambient lighting options, with up to 18 configuration possibilities on the top trims. Six levels remain to choose from: Pure, SE, SE Dynamic, HSE, HSE Dynamic and Autobiography. The Evoque Convertible is available in SE Dynamic and HSE Dynamic trims. The equipment included in each trim has also been adjusted, improving standard specification.

The mechanical renewal of the Range Rover Evoque is mainly driven by the adaptation of its engine range to the new emissions regulations. Something similar has happened with the new Land Rover Discovery Sport 2019. The Euro 6d standard represents yet another turn of the screw for manufacturers, who must constantly reduce the emissions of their vehicles.

Thus, the Evoque features the 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol from the Ingenium family, in its 240 CV Si4 version with 365 Nm of peak torque, and the TD4 diesels with 150 and 180 CV, all with tuned consumption and emissions figures. The diesels include an exhaust gas treatment system with particulate filter and AdBlue. The new 2.0 turbo petrol with twin-scroll double-entry turbocharger and electro-hydraulic intake control now also adds a particulate filter.
