Renault blends nostalgia and electric mobility for its new vans under the E-TECH banner

The electric commercial vehicle market of Renault is preparing the arrival of three new models, which will launch in 2026 and in which Volvo collaborates.

Renault is orienting its new launches toward a well-understood nostalgia and is presenting models with an electric drivetrain while wanting to make people feel it remains faithful to its legacy. During 2026, the French brand will launch three new electric van models, which will also carry a name drawn from the brand’s past.

One of them is the Renault Trafic E-TECH, something we already expected and which keeps its commercial vehicles on the current line. The surprise lies in the other two models. They are two commercial vehicles that revive names from other vehicles in the history of the French brand and that had their moment decades ago.

Renault revives two classic names

The first model revived by Renault is the GoElette E-TECH, while the second is called Estaffete E-TECH. All three share the same electric architecture, developed by Ampere, the electric mobility division of Renault. This platform is called SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) and is designed to shape vehicles that are well connected and intended to help companies electrify.

The Renault Trafic E-TECH will keep the classic bodywork of the Renault van, designed to move around the city. Its height of 1.90 metres and a short turning radius will help it move easily in urban environments. The Goelette E-TECH, for its part, is very similar to the Trafic at the front, while the rear is fully bodybuildable.

With a wide range of configurations, it can be very practical for many uses, from delivery vehicle to a practical food truck. Finally, we find the Renault Estaffete E-TECH, which takes back the name of a large van sold in the 1960s and 1970s.

This van will have a length of 5.27 metres and a width of 1.92 metres. Its height of 2.60 metres allows it to offer greater load capacity and greater functionality. The large panoramic windscreen helps provide good visibility, and the side doors make it very practical to access the rear cargo area.

The rear door is a sliding roll-up type, so it is very practical and needs no additional space to open and access the interior.

These three vans have been designed thanks to the collaboration between Renault and Volvo, with the support of Flexis, and as we mentioned earlier, they will reach the market in 2026.
