SEAT is going two-wheeled and will unveil its eScooter on 19 November

The Spanish brand wants to keep advancing in urban electric mobility and for this reason it will present an electric scooter on the next 19 November

Not long ago we read that SEAT could cease to exist and become CUPRA, stopping production of the models it currently builds and leaving its new subsidiary to market high-performance cars. But this seems to still be some way off, and the Spanish brand wants to keep offering interesting things to its followers. So its next surprise will be on two wheels and will be called eScooter.

The electric motorcycle, designed to offer urban mobility solutions, will be ready within a few days and will be unveiled on 19 November at the Smart City Expo World Congress, which will take place in Barcelona. At this event dedicated to urban electric mobility the eScooter can be seen, and it is said it will be available on the market from 2020.

This scooter model has been designed in collaboration with the manufacturer of this type of vehicle Silence, which is based in Barcelona. To get around it will use a motor equivalent to a 125 cc engine and for the time being SEAT is keeping the model’s performance closely guarded.

The eScooter is not the brand’s first electric vehicle, as last year it launched the eXS KickScooter, which has been sold in several countries and has a top speed of 25 km/h. Its batteries offer a range of 45 kilometres, although that figure can be increased by adding an optional battery pack. The price of this model starts at 599 euros.

SEAT’s offerings in this segment do not stop with these two models, as the brand also plans to launch a model to rival the Renault Twizy, with a model that will draw on the Minimo Concept presented at the Mobile World Congress.

The model will feature tandem seating, asymmetric doors and a battery providing a range of 100 kilometres, which can also be swapped quickly if necessary to allow a longer journey.
