Senner Tuning takes on the BMW Z8

Senner Tuning shows us a project aimed at making the BMW Z8 even more appealing

Today I want to tell you about the BMW Z8, that misunderstood model with which BMW M Motorsport sought to dazzle much of the world by combining two a priori highly appealing foundations: a Z model, light, convertible, attractive… with a huge 5.0-litre V8 engine like those fitted to the company’s most powerful models of that era.

As you can see, the premises were simply spectacular, nothing could go wrong, right up until the time came to tune the model, where they showed that something that seemed hopelessly good on paper could become one of the company’s greatest torments.

Even so, it must be acknowledged that it is an irresistible model, and perhaps none of its owners wants to break a lap record on a circuit, so the Z8 remains what it is: a very fast convertible for which certain tuners still keep an “as” up their sleeve.

Specifically, today I want to tell you about Senner Tuning, which has just unveiled its latest build, a project in which, apart from fitting new 19-inch Work Schwert SC1 alloy wheels shod with Continental Sport Contact 5P tyres in 255/40R19 and 285/35R19 for the front and rear axles respectively, or a much firmer coilover-type suspension, they show us a far more exciting mechanical upgrade.

Specifically, we are talking about a 5.0-litre V8 that receives a sport air filter and a much less restrictive exhaust system, which has achieved a power increase of 50 CV, enough for the little Z8 to now deliver 450 CV and 535 Nm of peak torque. As a very fast convertible once put it, it is now capable of reaching 300 km/h.
