Audi BMW Ford Honda Mercedes Nissan Suzuki Tesla Toyota Volkswagen Top 10
The 10 most valuable car brands in the world
Toyota retains the lead among the 10 most valuable car brands in the world, ahead of Mercedes-Benz. In addition, Tesla is soaring, and for the first time Nissan and Volkswagen make it onto the list.
Once again, the prestigious consultancy WPP Millward Brown has published the BrandZ report. And the final ranking of the 100 most valuable brands in the world includes only 5 automakers. Although almost all have seen their valuation rise compared with last year’s report, all of them have dropped positions in the ranking. These are normal results given the tech giants they compete with.

The report is prepared annually by analyzing the financial data of companies and the results of more than 3 million surveys conducted. Technology companies come out best in the final ranking. The top 5 positions are held by giants such as Google, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft and the Chinese internet and mobile telephony services provider Tencent. But let’s see which are the most valuable car brands.
Toyota retains the lead
Among the most valuable car brands, Toyota continues to hold the top spot. The Japanese manufacturer is the best-placed company in the automotive sector since 2013 and repeats this year, although it drops 6 positions compared with the previous year. It ranks 36th in the ranking, with a value of 29,987 million dollars.

Mercedes-Benz takes second place among the most valuable car brands. It loses positions and falls to 46th place, but overtakes BMW and rises 9% compared with last year, with a total value of 25,684 million dollars. The podium is closed by BMW, in 47th place, after increasing its value to 25,024 million dollars.
The rest of the most valuable car brands
There are two other manufacturers that make it into the top 100 of the ranking. They are Ford and Honda, which just scrape in by occupying places 96 and 97 respectively. And although they are not in this classification, BrandZ also establishes its top 10 of the most valuable car brands in the world.

In this classification, after the top 5, other giants of the industry appear. The sixth place among the most valuable car brands goes to Nissan, which has left the list of the top 100 despite gaining brand value. The seventh place goes to Audi, and the eighth belongs to Tesla, one of the most revalued companies (+60%). And for the first time among the 10 most valuable car brands, Suzuki and Volkswagen make it in.
