The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro reveals its insides in the first two images

Much less revealing than those of the Kia Optima are the photographs that Chevrolet has published today of its new Camaro 2016. The sixth generation of the American sports car will be unveiled to the public on May 16 at an event organized by the brand. Until then, the brand will release visual material following the same strategy that guided the car’s development: from the interior towards the exterior.
In line with this approach, the first images correspond to the vehicle’s internal components. Specifically, the star is the Alpha platform from General Motors on which the 2016 Camaro is built and which it will share with the Cadillac ATS and CTS, although the sports car will have a few particularities suited to its nature.
In this regard, General Motors explains that more than 70 % of the architecture’s parts have been designed specifically for the 2016 Camaro. Compared with the versions used by the Cadillacs, the Chevrolet’s will be longer, so as to preserve its characteristic silhouette, and wider, essential so that it can tackle corners with stability and precision.

Chevrolet’s engineers have also focused their attention on the rigidity of the structure and on the weight distribution, two factors that significantly influence a car of this type. In addition, the LT1 V8 engine with a displacement of 6.2 litres will debut 20 % of elements created for the Camaro. Among them are the new exhaust manifolds that form a triple Y.
The number of novelties will be so significant that it will even redesign the front emblem with the bow tie, as well as the rear spoiler. From the fifth generation it will only inherit the Chevrolet logo printed on the rear lights and the SS badge of the homonymous variant. The next photographs will be published on March 30.
