The BMW iX becomes the standard-bearer of the brand's clean mobility
The new SAV from BMW arrives, designed to be the brand’s definitive step towards electric mobility, offering design, power, range and technology.

Electric mobility, a trend that is increasingly present in our lives and that promises a revolution in the automotive industry, aiming to make us forget about pollution when we drive. So we can see many proposals from brands to move forward in this respect, and BMW is not left behind. The new flagship of the German brand aims to break with everything and let us enjoy sustainable driving.
The electric model takes on the design of an SAV (Sport Activity Vehicle) and has that visual and aerodynamic strength with a sporty spirit, but with a subtle difference. Its environmental impact is 45% lower than that of a similar model powered by a diesel engine after 200,000 kilometres driven.

An important figure that adds to the materials used to manufacture both the car and the main elements that make it up. The battery is manufactured using controlled materials so that their extraction and marketing are sustainable, and this philosophy is applied from the beginning of the manufacturing process to the very last step.
Clean range and power
The range of the BMW iX xDrive50 is rated at 600 kilometres on the WLTP cycle, a more than generous figure for travelling with it. The power offered by this model is 370 kW, equivalent to a considerable 500 CV. In the case of the BMW iX xDrive30, the range drops to 400 kilometres. The power offered is also somewhat lower than the previous one, with a total of 240 kW, which corresponds to 300 CV.

The technology used in both versions is the fifth generation of the BMW eDrive, which uses new motors, electronically managed power, the transmission and the battery cells. The charging system allows 80% of the battery level to be reached with a 200 kW charger in just 40 minutes. To gain 120 km of range in the case of the BMW iX xDrive50, only 10 minutes are needed, the same time the xDrive30 version takes to add 90 km.
Technology at the service of driving
The driver assistance systems are important in this model. Its control centre is the BMW 8 operating system and the new iDrive version. The BMW Curve Display consists of two frameless screens. One of 12.3 inches displays the instrumentation, while another of 14.9 inches handles the remaining controls. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant (Intelligent Personal Assistant) adds new functions, and the 2.5-zone automatic climate control system, which is more intuitive, is also available as standard.
On the centre console are the rotary selector for gear selection, a touch controller and a glass-effect control surface with active haptic feedback for operating the car’s various functions. The steering wheel is hexagonal, a feature taken from competition models.
The front grille is blanked off and houses many of the sensors that help the car take control in certain situations and collect data for driver assistance, which is very important in this new model. The technology applied to improve driving and enjoyment will be present in this model, which aims to be the brand’s definitive step into the future.
